The series it finally get to its end… which it actually it is not the end, but actually is the right half of the saga.
Cassandra Clare had grown a lot as a writer since the volume one o better said since City of Bone, the character had evolve and had made us feel in love by its words and its thoughts.
This was the very first time for me to read a book that was more narrative than personal inner speech, on TTS (The Twilight Saga) books was always Bella’s POV and in this series the POV changes from Jace to Clary or Simon even Alex.
“To save her mother’s life, Clary must travel to the City of Glass, the ancestral home of the Shadowhunters — never mind that enter-ing the city without permission is against the Law, and breaking the Law could mean death. To make things worse, she learns that Jace does not want her there, and Simon has been thrown in prison by the Shadowhunters, who are deeply suspicious of a vampire who can withstand sunlight. As Clary uncovers more about her family’s past, she finds an ally in mysterious Shadow-hunter Sebastian. With Valentine mustering the full force of his power to destroy all Shadow-hunters forever, their only chance to defeat him is to fight alongside their eternal enemies. But can Downworlders and Shadowhunters put aside their hatred to work together? While Jace realizes exactly how much he’s willing to risk for Clary, can she harness her newfound powers to help save the Glass City — whatever the cost?; Love is a mortal sin and the secrets of the past prove deadly as Clary and Jace face down Valentine.”
The thing that most caught me were the dialogues, are so real and current, since the series is placed in the current time, that create some sense of attachment to us the readers. I loved when Jace is at Magnus place in some sort of lockdown and he says that he’s going to watch Project Runway, I laugh a lot with those lines, cuz I also watch that show with my mom 😛
The most shocking chapter for me was, 14. In the dark forest, mainly the moment when Jace shows up on Clary’s bedroom, I cried on that scene and also feel a little anger, cuz I understood perfectly what Jace said and what Clary thought, the entire situation was hard (even I’ve never been through that but I think it’s horrible). Also chapter 9. This guilty blood, is so hard for everything the angel told them, for the fact that Jace thinks he’s half demon and for the huge kiss they have, love it!!!!!!
In general terms this book was amazing, it move your feelings and thoughts; between how Jace and Clary’s love is impossible, that Alex is a gay coward, then he changes thanks to Clary and her runes, a Magnus resentful and jealous; Simon that now turns to be a heartthrob, which is funny if we create the mental picture of the human Simon vs the vampire Simon, that now is stalked by a wolf-woman and a female shadowhunter very hot. I laught, cried, gasped and over all I spend a really good time reading this books.
Now we have to wait until December comes to be reveal the cover of the next book of the series, its release will be until April -2011, the 4th book had for title “City of Fallen Angels”, the 5th is “City of lost souls” for May-2012 and the 6th “City of Heavenly Fire” for September-2013.
Well that’s all for now, when I read the other books of course I’ll published my reviews. Thanks for reading. BTW here’s a ling for the book.
