I have many things to say about Black Swan, many are not very nice, some very corny and other I guess believe me, but hey here we go.

Here’s the synopsis:

Nina (Portman) is a ballerina in a New York City ballet company whose life, like all those in her profession, is completely consumed with dance. She lives with her obsessive former ballerina mother Erica (Hershey) who exerts a suffocating control over her. When artistic director Thomas Leroy (Cassel) decides to replace prima ballerina Beth MacIntyre (Ryder) for the opening production of their new season, Swan Lake, Nina is his first choice. But Nina has competition: a new dancer, Lily (Kunis), who impresses Leroy as well. Swan Lake requires a dancer who can play both the White Swan with innocence and grace, and the Black Swan, who represents guile and sensuality. Nina fits the White Swan role perfectly but Lily is the personification of the Black Swan. As the two young dancers expand their rivalry into a twisted friendship, Nina begins to get more in touch with her dark side – a recklessness that threatens to destroy her.

I have only two complaints about the movie, first the fact that the sex scenes are totally out of context and that the two lesbian scenes, are like whatever, as well as that one when Natalie Portman is on her bed (you know which one) . I was very upset to have to push forward the movie, I was so pissed, because I could not see it completely; but I hate more to have to stand those pornographic scenes in movies, even when they have a good script and an interesting story, hate that they want to get more people placing scandalous sex scenes, useless, I think is so lame and trashy.

Ok, I take it off me, now I am going to the part I do liked, such as the opening scene, was great, I love the interpretation of the entire piece, was perfectly well done, I totally believed it, I liked that the director included details in the story like the fact that the ballet dancers tear up their ballet shoes and turn them up again to mold ‘em, I could see that there was a good job of research.

The ballet costumes are really impressive, and the characterization with make up, done on Natalie Portman to make become in the Black Swan Queen and the White Swan Queen, were really scary characterizations. By Mila Kunis I was not impressed at all, I do not dislike her, but she pass through without causing any reaction in the audience, at least didn’t get to me.

In the end, after hearing so much about the movie, read some interviews and reviews, my opinion is that the movie, Is good, very good! but if I could I would edit or eliminate the lesbian scenes and especially that one when Natalie Portman… (that went completely over the top); is this worth it for an OSCAR, NO!!, definitly NO!!, I mean is not that good, is has an good plot and is very interesting, but I don’t think the Academy will loved to much.
